Why Accreditation Isn’t Our Foundation

We are often asked whether Calvary Bible Institute is accredited. While accreditation can be valuable and does open certain doors, we do not believe that accreditation alone is what makes a school effective.

What We’re Committed to for You

By remaining non-accredited, we are able to invite and equip the very pastors and leaders who have helped shape the Calvary Chapel movement to teach freely and invest directly in the next generation. This allows us to keep the main thing the main thing: the clear, faithful teaching of the Bible and the preparation of men and women for ministry.

Our focus is not to be a comprehensive academic institution covering every discipline, but to be deeply committed to teaching the Scriptures and serving our students well. At the same time, we recognize the value of further education. Because of this, Calvary Bible Institute works with partner institutions that accept our credits and help students transition into accredited degree programs if they choose to continue their education.

Why We’ve Chosen a Different Path

Calvary Bible Institute is part of the broader Calvary Chapel movement—a family of pastors, church planters, missionaries, and leaders called by God to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Our priority has always been to remain faithful to that calling. For this reason, we believe that pursuing accreditation would ultimately move us away from what God has uniquely called us to do.

What We Believe Truly Matters

Jesus said, “You will know them by their fruit.” We believe the true measure of a Bible institute is not found in institutional recognition, but in the calling of the Holy Spirit, the faithfulness of God’s Word being taught, and the fruit produced in the lives of students.

Further Education & Next Steps

Our focus is not to be a comprehensive academic institution covering every discipline, but to be deeply committed to teaching the Scriptures and serving our students well. At the same time, we recognize the value of further education. Because of this, Calvary Bible Institute works with partner institutions that accept our credits and help students transition into accredited degree programs if they choose to continue their education:
