Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel

was founded in 1978 as Living Stream Christian Fellowship, a Calvary Chapel affiliate. What began as a small fellowship has grown into a thriving church committed to the clear teaching of God’s Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the mission of making disciples.

Over the years, the church has become a place of worship, biblical instruction, and ministry training for the Morongo Basin and beyond. With a heart for local outreach and global missions, Joshua Springs has served as a launching point for pastors, missionaries, church planters, and ministry leaders.

Today, Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel continues to serve as the host church of Calvary Bible Institute, providing spiritual covering, practical support, and a rich ministry environment where students can grow in their walk with Christ while being equipped for the work of the ministry.

Our Conviction: Rooted in the Local Church

an Extension of the Church

Calvary Bible Institute believes every campus should exist as a ministry of a local church. The Joshua Springs campus, like every CBI campus, does not exist as an island or an ivory tower of intellectual pursuit, but as a living extension of the church’s mission.

Accountability and Mission

We hold this conviction because history has shown that many Bible colleges, institutions, and seminaries can drift when disconnected from the life, accountability, and mission of the local church. Remaining under the covering of a faithful congregation helps keep ministry training grounded in biblical truth, practical service, evangelism, discipleship, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

A Living Partnership

Each campus is called to remain connected to a body of believers that is actively seeking the lost, making disciples, and being salt and light in its community. For us, the partnership between Bible training and the local church is not secondary—it is paramount.
