servanthood

Servanthood is an important part of CBI’s curriculum. For just over eight hours a week, students are assigned work tasks at various locations:

cbi main campus

joshua springs calvary chapel

joshua springs thrift store

29 palms
extension campus

Tasks such as cleaning toilets, sweeping and mopping, taking out trash, and cleaning and sorting donations for the thrift store all point the student towards one of the biggest purposes of life and ministry - to be a servant of all (Mark 10:44-45) and to esteem others as better than oneself (Phil. 2:3-4). Furthermore, practicing servanthood and performing humble tasks give the student regular opportunities to practice surrender and to look more like Jesus, the greatest Servant who has ever been.
